Presenter: Christy Isbell, PhD OTR/L, Program Director/Chair and Professor of Occupational Therapy: 

Dr. Christy Isbell is a professor of occupational therapy at Milligan College where she teaches graduate level pediatric occupational therapy courses. She is a pediatric occupational therapist with more than twenty-five years of experience working with young children in schools, child care centers, homes and clinics. Dr. Isbell maintains a private practice, and her specialty is early intervention and the treatment of young children with autism. She has authored five books, contributed to books, and published articles on sensory integration and fine motor development. Dr. Isbell’s books were written to educate early childhood teachers and parents and include Sensory Integration: A guide for preschool teachers. She has presented nationally and internationally on sensory integration and fine motor development.


Title:  Addressing Challenging Infant and Toddler Behaviors: A Sensory Integrative Approach

Learning Objectives:

By the end of the session, participants will:

1. Understand infant/toddler behaviors from Sensory Integration perspective

2. Learn how Sensory Integration relates to Self-Regulation

3. Gain solutions for addressing challenging infant/toddler behaviors
