Topic: "Living Your Dream"

This course will discuss the benefits of following your passion for specific roles within occupational therapy (OT) practice as well as the many opportunities OT provides. In addition, participants will learn about the unique practice of OT on the Go, a mobile therapy practice emphasizing pediatric treatment and sensory integration "on the go."

About the Presenter: Amy Higgs, OTR/L, is the founder of OT on the Go in Virginia. OT on the Go was created to bring occupational therapy to rural areas, private schools, and daycares throughout Southwest Virginia with the unique sensory bus. Amy received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2000, and has since continued advanced studies in pediatric occupational therapy including neurodevelopment and sensory integration. Amy is Nationally Board Certified by the National Board of Occupational Therapy (OTR) and licensed to practice within the state of Virginia. Learn more at www.otonthego.com. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will identify specialization opportunities within occupational therapy practice.

  2. Participants will learn about pediatric practice including sensory integration within a mobile environment.
