Presenter: Michelle Carr, OTR/LMichelle Carr graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1994 wit
h her bachelors of science in Occupational Therapy. There she served as pre
sident of her class and a delegate to the American Occupational Therapy Ass
ociation. She graduated with honors and presented with the Nancy D. Prender
gast award for the most contribution to the profession by a student. Michel
le completed both a speciality fieldwork in pediatrics and in hand therapy.
Following graduation she worked under a CHT for 5 years in Augusta, GA whi
le also practicing part time in pediatrics. Eventually she practiced full t
ime in pediatrics at Pediatrics Inc. in the outpatient and school system se
tting in Augusta, GA. She continued practicing in the school system setting
in Georgia and Tennessee while raising her children and has recently trans
itioned back into the hand therapy setting. Michelle is physical agent moda
lity certified and currently working towards sitting for the CHT exam. She
is currently working part time for Orthotennessee Therapy as a hand therapi
st.
