About this course: Evidence Bas ed Practice (EBP) is challenging for busy clinicians of all levels of exper ience. This talk is designed to reach novices to experts by focusing on EBP through the lens of efficiency. This presentation will review the basic fu ndamentals for EPB, help participants strategically plan professional growt h, and share tips and tricks to make EPB more efficient for the busy OT!

About the Presenter: Jamie Bergner is a practicing occupational therapist, c ertified hand therapist, and certified orthopedic manual therapist at the V anderbilt University Medical Center, specializing in traumatic injuries of the upper extremity. She graduated with her post-professional doctorate in occupational therapy with an elective track in education in 2016 and a Bach elor’s of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2000. Jamie is faculty for the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine-US Hand and Upper Extremity T rack and teaches upper extremity continuing education courses nationally. I n addition, she is developing curriculum for MedBridge and is teaching four continuing education courses in an online subscription-based platform. In 2019, she joined Cox College, a MSOT Program as adjunct faculty and teaches graduate courses online. Passionate about evidence-informed care, Jamie me ntors level II fieldwork students and new therapists, is actively involved in conducting research and promoting clinician-led research pathways at Van derbilt. She is a published author through the Journal of Hand Therapy, the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, the Journal of Shoulder and Elbo w Surgery, and OT Practice. She has presented at numerous state, regional, and national conferences and is a National Board Certification in Occupatio nal Therapy (NBCOT) volunteer. She has an amazing husband of 19 years, and two active children ages 14 and 9, a cat named Delilah and a Labradoodle pu ppy named Samson. She loves spending time with her family outside hiking, b iking, and teams up with her teenage daughter as current green belts in Kra v Maga/martial arts.
